| 2005 Spec Motor Modified |
|
| The 2005 season brings on many changes and new challenges for Chris. After a successful 2004 in a Super Stock, he has moved into a Spec Motor Modified. The change is big because he will go from running 15 second laps on a ¼ mile, to 19 second laps on the ½ mile. In 2004, Chris was able to get a few laps on the ½ mile in a Pro Truck and a Late Model. He looks forward to the move and is eager to get the season started. |
With his brother Todd as his driving coach, he has high expectations for his rookie season. Todd and Chris are joined once again by crew chief Howard Hoffman from Performance Setup Service. Howard has helped Todd to become one of the toughest drivers to beat at Altamont, and looks to do the same with Chris. When Chris started in the Super Stocks, he was in the way. After Howard got done with the car he was moving guys out of the way! |

| Chris started racing Super Stocks at Altamont in 2002. He ran a handful of races, and needless to say, had his hands full. His biggest highlight that year was when he once spun out twice in a single lap. Not something to be proud of. |
| In 2003 Chris ran 13 races and had limited success. He won 4 heat races, had 6 top 10’s and 5 top 5’s, including his first win on August 2. Not only did he lead every lap, but he held off two hard charging racers. This was by far one of the best races to watch. It was a huge win for Chris and it gave him a great boost for the upcoming 2004 season! With that win, Howard decided it was time to really get Chris’s car ready to mount a serious charge for the championship. Boy did he ever! The car was completely rebuilt and looked totally different. The Yellow Tank had evolved into the Montiac. |

| 1st Win! August 2, 2003 |

|
| 2004 was an outstanding year for Chris! The year started off a little shaky with motor problems the first two weeks. Once Quentin and Howard got them fixed, it was off to the races! By week 3 Chris set fast time, won his heat race and the main event. That started the string of three consecutive main event wins. As the season went on, Chris put up some outstanding numbers. He qualified in the top 3 sixteen times, and finished in the main event top 5 seventeen times. With all of his accomplishments, he still came up short in the championship. If he had it to do over again, I’m sure he would like to take back what happen on the only Friday night race of the year. He let his emotions get the best of him and he was shown the black flag, all but ending any chance at the title. Not to be out done, Chris saved his best for last. On the final night of the season he turned in a blistering lap of 14.975 in qualifying. |
